I served active duty beginning in Washington State then Georgia.  A couple in Augusta discipled me as they ministered to the troops with the Navigators program.  I learned to study and memorize Scripture.  Together, we shared  the Gospel with many soldiers at Fort Gordan during my advanced training for my M.O.S. there.

I'm a Vietnam Veteran, having served in an Army Depot at Cam Rahn Bay, Vietnam, during 1969-1970.  In my off duty time I visited an orphanage of about 500 kids near Cam Rahn Bay.

My fellow soldiers and I sent letters home asking churches in the USA to send clothes to give to the orphans. We brought canned food from all of the companies in our battalion mess halls.  Letting these kids know they were loved was important to them, and to all of the soldiers who visited them.

My Honorable Discharge was in September, 1971.

Painting during Worship at Destiny Christian Fellowship

I was born in Great Falls, Montana and moved to Oregon in 1959.

That year I became a Christian by giving my heart to Jesus during summer Vacation Bible School at a little Covenant Church just down the street from where I lived.

I graduated with honors in graphics arts from Andrew Jackson High School.  Then I joined the Army for three years.

about... Marv Watkins

I attended Oregon Society of Arts and Crafts and Clackamas Community College where I took art lessons and pottery classes.

I received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit at Tualatin Foursquare Church in the early 1980's.

My loving wife, Deborah, and I have four sons we're very proud of: Scott, Tom, Ryan and Joe.

Together, Deb and I are active ministering together hosting a home care group and leading another care group for Prophetic Artists at Destiny Christian Fellowship Church in Happy Valley, Oregon.

Artwork is my act of worship to God.  Some people dance, some sing, I draw and paint. During the worship service, God may show me a message that He wants to tell His congregation, whether my local fellowship or His worldwide church.

My artwork begins by asking God 'show me' or 'tell me what You want to say to this person'.

God is a faithful God and has an important word for every one of His children.  And He wants to talk to you more than you can imagine.

Whether I sketch with colored pencils or markers or chalk or paint, God impresses images on me and I watch them take shape and their colors emerge.

When doing a personal prophetic work for someone, the impact on that person is dramatic as God communicates something to them which wasn't known to me.  Their appreciation of God flourishes as they receive this very private, very personal communication and then take the prophetic art with them to treasure the words of God for them forever.

It is my heart's desire to share what God is saying today by making this artwork available to you.  Over time as this site develops, I want to open the doors to Prophetic Art to you by offering video tutorials and Bible insights that will lead you in developing your God-given abilities to hear Him and create your own Prophetic Art!

My Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me, and thank You for Jesus who died on that cross for all my sins, who took all my judgment on Himself, and so there is no condemnation for me now.

You raised Him from the dead for my justification, and I thank You that all my sins, past, present and future, have been forgiven.  Jesus Christ is my Lord and my Savior now and forever,

                                                    In Jesus Name, Amen.

"that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

Romans 10, New King James Version

"It’s the word of faith that welcomes God to go to work and set things right for us. This is the core of our preaching. Say the welcoming word to God—“Jesus is my Master”—embracing, body and soul, God’s work of doing in us what he did in raising Jesus from the dead. That’s it. You’re not “doing” anything; you’re simply calling out to God, trusting him to do it for you. That’s salvation. With your whole being you embrace God setting things right, and then you say it, right out loud: “God has set everything right between him and me!”
